This is a lovely large square silk Chiffon scarf designed by Alexander McQueen. It is a genuine McQueen issue.
It is very sheer, as you can see in my photographed. The scarf is made of gossimer fine chiffon silk. It is printed with dark wine coloured skulls all over in smalll and medium and larger sizes. There is a decorative printed border all around made up of small skulls in a row and contained between red parallel lines. The edge of the scarf has all been hand stitched. When worn - the skulls have a bit of a ghosty appearance - floating in the air. The scarf would look best worn with a black or dark outfit to highlight this effect in the design.
I have taken images of the scarf being held up - so you can see how sheer it is and also the large size of it.
The scarf is being sold as an original McQueen issue (and not a fake or repro). The teeth on the head's of the skulls differ, as does the details on the features (such as the shape of the noses) on many of the skulls - they are not all the same as you would find on a fake. Also the stitching on the edge has a rope effect with hand stitching. The labels on my scarf are as should be - and I have photographed these for you. I have taken lots of images for you inspection and you can check all these details on them. I only have one of these - and the scarf that you see in the listing is the one that will be sent to you.
The design debuted in 2003 - but is still on sale today, retailing around the £280 mark.
It has an Alexander McQueen label or tab on the side as photographed. The label also says that this is a 100% silk scarf was Made in Italy.
It is a large size measuring 115 x 100 cm. So great for wrapping around your neck and shoulders on a warm spring evening.
The scarf does not have an original box - but it is in pristine condition. It is clean and has never been worn it is in "as new" condition. It was tricky to photograph - so I hope that my photos have done it justice. You will not be disappointed with it.
It is listed at a fair price for an original Aleaxander McQueen scarf of this size and given its original retail price. It is a certainly a most unusual and stunning scarf.
