This is one of two matching brass Arts and Crafts table lamps that I am listing in my webstore.
They form a pair (as photographed). THIS LISTING IS FOR ONLY ONE LAMP.
They date to just after 1912 and are attributed to Leicester although neither one has a maker's mark on it. They are very similar in form to similar candlesticks made at Dryad.
The Dryad Metal Works was set up in 1912 and they made simple but very well-made metalware. Most of these items were designed by John Sidney Reeve and other people instructing metalwork at the Leicester School of Art. Reeve was a silversmith who had previously worked to C.R. Ashbee and the Guild of Handicraft in Chipping Campden.
They are all the same very rare antique lamps.
They have such an elegant shape and look fabulous with the lovely antique shade. Both lamp base and shade are without any condition issues. They are certainly sophisticated lamps for a stylish period interior.
The lamp has recently been rewired to that it is safe for use. It has an old-fashioned style dark brown three-core cloth-covered cable, and they are both earthed.
The are very tall and elegant in form The main lamp section is 14 inches in height. The diameter of the base is 5 3/4 inches. The overall height of the lamp is 17 1/2 inches. The shade measures 4 3/4 inches in height - and has a rim diameter of 5 3/4 inches. The lamps both take a modern bayonet light bulb.
They will be posted in the UK only. We will pack up very carefully and send the parcel with Parcelforce24. This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
