This is a rare survivor - a geometric perspex table lamp with chrome fittings and ball-shaped glass shade.
The base is made of a clear coloured perspex base with three geometric applied feet. From the center of the base issues the chrome metal upstand and holds up the chrome bulb holder and fitment to hold the globe shade on.
The flex goes under the raised base and up through the chrome column to the bulb holder. At each side of the chrome stand are two decorative perspex rigid ribbon shapes (forming a U-shape towards the base). Each side has two white parallel lines on each side as a decorative device and this matches the two white applied hoops on the base, all as photographed.
The perspex is generally in good condition with no chips or cracks etc. There is a little minor bit of discolouring to the lucite material confined to the edges - this is commensurate with the age of this lamp (about 90 years old) and the nature of the material used.
There is an on-off button on the finger switch on the bulb holder. The bulb holder is a replacement one so that the lamp can be earthed and conform to modern electrical safety standards. The lamp has been re-wired and is working.
The shade is an opaque glass globe with two raised hoop shapes on the outside which go with the lines on the lamp itself. The lamp sits in the chrome pan shape and is held in place by tightening the finger screws - you loosen the screws and lift off the shade if you need to replace the bulb inside.
It is more of a feature light to highlight a room corner and cast a softer light on your interior than as a reading lamp etc.
It takes a modern B22 bayonet light bulb.
Dimensions: Height is 18 inches (overall height including shade). The Base is 5 1/2 inches in diameter. The Shade has a diameter of 6 inches.
There is a long length of electric flex - new antique style silver-grey cloth-covered cable: 2 1/2 meters in length.
