This is an unusual antique pewter dish by the Danish designer, Just Andersen (1884 - 1943).

As a sculptor and silversmith, he is best known for his neoclassic Scandinavian design of articles for everyday use in pewter, brass, copper, and bronze. He started his own workshop in 1918, which his widow continues to run until the mid 1940s.

In the 1920s and 30s, he worked for the Swedish companies Nordiska Kompaniet (NK) and Guldsmedsaktiebolaget (GAB) in Stockholm.

Just Andersen is probably the most recognized designer of modern pewter in Denmark.

These little miniature candleholders / candlesticks are very stylish pieces of Art Deco Scandinavian pewter. The base is circular with impressed vertical lines all around. A little fluted bulbous shape forms the main body of the candlestick with a pair of rings at the top and a fluted neck.

They are 3 inches in height. The diameter of the base is 2 1/8 inch. The top has a diameter of 1 3/8 inches. The aperture for the candlestick is 1.5 cm (just over 1/2 an inch).

They are both fully marked on the base with the four Just marks in triangles surrounding am image of a little man holding a jug or pot. It is number 125 below.  Both have a nice patina of age - and in good condition with no damages.

Postage to UK Addresses will be £5.50  with Royal Mail tracked postage.
