This is a fabulous large antique cast iron lion.
It takes the form of a lion rampant resting on a shield in front of him.
He is a large and heavy piece - made from cast iron and he has lovely detail in the modelling. I love the little detail of his tongue sticking out - this has touches of original red paint on it.
Mr Lion is about 15 inches in height. x 10 inches wide at the base x 3 inches in depth.
He is designed as a door stop - which you might pop in front of a door to keep it from swinging shut - but it also looks nice as a decorative sculptural piece.
As you can see it is in excellent condition - nice and clean with no condition issues. Taken lots of photographs for your inspection.
Please note this one is a GENUINE antique example and not a later reproduction - it has it's natural patination of age - and has not been repainted with modern paints or varnishes. This is reflected in my asking price.
