This is a very pretty and collectable vintage Sterling Silver double photo frame.
It dates to the early part of the 20th century and is Art Nouveau in style.
The frame is marked to base on one of the feet (on the front) "Sterling" and on the other foot with a date "1915". It is not hallmarked and has no maker's name - but the design looks similar to small frames designed by William Hair Haseler for Liberty / or by Kate Allen for Willian Hutton & Sons. The modelling on this one though does not seem to be as crisp as you find on ones attributed to those artists.
The back of the little frame is made of wood, as photographed. The original glass on the front is still present - and the aperture of the frame shows the original claret silk backing where your photographs would appear. There are tiny clips to keep the back of the frame closed.
There is room for two small photographs - perhaps for a newly married couple.
The miniature frame measures 3 1/8 inches (8 cm) and the width is 4 3/8 inches (11 cm). The window aperture is 4.8 x 3.4 cm.
The frame is in good condition - and might benefit from a slight polish - but it has a patina of age on the silver. Listed at a fair price as these antique small "Liberty Style" frames are very collectable.
It would be sent to you with Royal Mail Special Next Day Delivery post - so that it is fully insured against loss or damage in transit.
