On offer is this nice pair of brass and brass & copper Indian Pillow Purses.
Traditionally - these would have been used at weddings to carry money by the bridesmaids.
They form two little boxes which open with a little decorative clasp at the front. They come with a long chain so that they can be hung around your neck to carry little personal items in or hung on a little hook at home as a decorative item,
The plain brass pillow shape one measures 3 inches across and the height is 2 inches. The depth is 2 inches. It has a fancy clasp and fancy filigree hinge at the back. The chain has a drop of 17 inches. It is lined inside with a dark aubergine velvet. It is in good clean condition given it is nearly 100 years old now.
The other one is an oval box shape and is made of copper and brass. It is 3 inches in length and with a height of 1 1/2 inches. The chain has a drop of 14 inches. The depth is 2 inches. It is lined with an aubergine velvet - and again in good condition.
They are just lovely examples - and you wont be disappointed with them. I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
