This is a lovely vintage Gimbal Desk Lamp - as you can see from my photographs, it is in fabulous condition.
It is a fine nautical lamp with a circular base supporting an articulated arm & counterweight. The weight means that it can be moved to a variety of angles as shown and holds in place.
It is a good quality ship or cabin light dating to the early 20th century. Originally for use on a ship - these lamps were designed to be used on a table or attached to a wall or bulkhead.
With impressed registration number: P9009.
As you can see my one is lovely and shiny with no condition issues. It comes with a very pretty Art Nouveau glass shade which is also without any damages - all nice and clean and ready to just plugin.
It has been all re-wired prior to sale with a period-style cloth three-core cable (old gold colour). This is 2 meters in length and is earthed for safety.
