This is a strange wee item - and is fully of naive charm.
This is a wee one-off vintage model. It probably dates to the 1950s or early 1960s. It has been all made from old nuts and bolts found in a workshop - probably by one of the workers. You will not find another one - and it is certainly very sculptural in feel. It takes the form of two little riders and horses showjumping or going over a point-to-point course.
The figure is in good vintage condition with a patina of age - which ages to its charm. The nuts and bolts have all been welded together and sections of the model painted. The base is made of a metal gasket ring which has been painted green. There are some paint flakes on the paint here. The fences are made of long metal poles and these are painted in red and white. I just love the horses. The body sections are made of nuts - and the legs and made from nails. The heads are bolts. The little riders are made of thick metal pins.
Dimensions: The ring forming the base is 6 inches in diameter and the overall height of the model is 4 3/4 inches (taken to the tip of the highest horses ears).
These original "kitsch" artisan made nut and bolt figures are highly collectable. I have never seen another one quite like this one - its a bit bonkers and you certainly wont find another one easily! This is all reflected in my asking price. I have taken lots of photographs for your inspection.
