This is a fine mid-20th century bronze figurine of a warrior holding a spear. It is finely modelled and has a lovely rich patina commensurate with its age. It was certainly not "made yesterday" and it is a fine piece.
It comes from the Benin area of Nigeria in Africa where similar metal figures that been made for centuries.
This one is a nice size for domestic display and measures 11 3/4 inches in height. It is a heavy piece; as you might a piece made of solid bronze. It has an unpacked weight of 1.9 kg.
It is in good vintage condition. It might have stood once on a more substantial base, but it would be easy to pop a new base on this fine fellow for display. He does stand upright on his own as is but has a wee bit of a wobble factor.
