These are very rare vintage plaques - and in exceptional condition; they have been kept in their original cardboard storage box for nearly 50 years now.
They are also so hard to find - and I cannot find another pair like them.
These figures take the form of a pair of plaques that show images of Queen Ingeborg of Denmark (1277 - 1319) and her husband, King Eric VI Menved (1274 - 1319).
They are based on the images on their tombs at St. Bendt's Church in Ringsted.
Each plaque is made of a richly painted resin-plaster and probably dates to the 1970s. There is a maker’s mark on the back which reads: “original design by / Alpha Studio / Nottingham / all copyrights reserved”.
I couldn’t really find that much about Alpha Studio - but it seems that they made plaques, models etc in plaster and painted resin. This is surely a strange subject for a Nottingham company to have produced. So I would imagine that my fine large pair of plaques are possibly harder to find survivors, especially being boxed up since the 1970s.
My price reflects their rarity, condition, and their sheer decorative quality.
They are about 40 cm in length - so have a good size of them.
They are certainly heavy pieces and the postage would be with Parcelforce24 and applied to your order at the checkout.
