This is a wee job lot of vintage mid-century tins that were made to hold art materials and distributed by REEVES.
Each tin dates to the 1950s and are in good condition given that they are about 70 years old now. They are, of course, now highly collectable.
The first tin is the largest one - which is red in colour. It has a black black greyhound to the left - and the contents are Reeves Greyhound Pastels. N. 12. There are still most of the pastels inside (some have been used), as photographed. The lid is still nice and shiny - and there is some expected rubbing to the base. The tin measures 4 1/2 inches x just over 3 inches. It is priced at £25
The next tin is the blue one. It has a white greyhound to the right - and it is annotated Reeves No. 40. Inside are 8 miniature tubes of watercolour paint and the original brush, as photographed. The paint inside the metal tubes has hardened over the years - but it makes for a nice display. The tin is in good vintage condition - it has no dents, rust or scratches. It measures 4 1/2 inches x just over three inches. It is priced at £20.
The final wee tin is now empty, but would have originally held pastels - it would be easy to get some modern Reeves pastels to fill it up again. It is green and white with the black greyhound logo. It is Set A12. It states that the company was founded in 1766. It measures 4 3/4 inches x just over 1 1/2 inches. It is in good vintage condition and is being sold for only £10.
