This is another lovely vintage paperweight - made in Scotland, possibly by Vasart Glass in the 1960s. The glass dome has a more grey tone to the glass - rather than being crystal clear - this grey tone is often found in Vasart weights.
There is no maker's cane to be seen in this weight, and again this is consistent with what you might find in Vasart examples. There is a star cane in the center, as photographed.
There is a dark black ground, into which the millefiori canes are placed. This is polished on the base with a pontil in the center.
The central blue and white star cane is surrounded by a pale-coloured rosette. Then with another ring of rose-orange and the exterior ring of lilac canes.
There are nine olive ribbon latticino canes forming the spokes.
Diameter at widest point is 2 1/4 inches and the height is just over 1 1/2 inches. No damages or scratches to the glass.
