This is certainly a fine and very interesting Scottish paperweight.
It was made by the paperweight artist, Helen MacDonald. It is entitled Lilac Wonder.
It from a special limited edition made for sale to the Caithness Collectors Society Members - it was always an expensive issue and it had an initial price ticket of £125. Obviously now harder to find - so my listing price is a fair one given its rarity and quality.
It is a very intricate design and would have taken great skill to have made this one. It has a traditional round paperweight base with a pyramid-shaped top section. The decoration inside the weight floats in crystal clear glass. A lower layer is present of blue stripes and on this floats four little air bubbles - they are in turquoise blue and purple shades.
It is in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks.
Dimensions: Height is 3 1/2 inches - and at the widest point it is 3 1/2 inches. Unpacked it weights: 840 grams.
