This is a fine larger Scottish glass paperweight. As you can see it is beautifully made and was created by Strathearn Glass. There is an old paper label on the base, as photographed.
This Strathearn weight dates to the 1960s or early 1970s and has a small dark blue (almost black) glass base colour.
The canes are beautifully placed with twelve fine and delicate spiral latticinio twists, which radiate as half-size spokes from the weight edges.
The central millefiori rosette has a prominent central cane - which is white in colour with a bright turquoise star. Surrounding this is a ring of yellow and white canes - set into the black glass base. Then we have the latticinio half spokes - in red, white, and blue. In between each cane white and pastel pink millefiori canes in sets of three.
A very attractive vintage Scottish glass paperweight. In good vintage condition. There is one flaw in this weight - which has occurred in the making - this is the inclusion of a random air bubble - which floats in the clear glass of the crown - which I have photographed for your inspection. I have reduced the price on this to take into account this "rogue" wee floating air bubble.
It measures 2 1/4 inches in height with a diameter of 3 inches.
The weight unpacked is 500 grams.
