This is a very attractive paperweight by Paul Ysart. It was made when he was working for Harland Glass Studios, and as such is signed below with an H cane.
A really special weight and of course in excellent condition with no damages.
The weight has a speckled ground of a scrummy sugar pink colour. I love the flower in the center of the weight. This flower is made with the inclusion of glittering aventurine to the glass. When it is turned to the light the flower twinkles. Around the edge of this weight are a series of tiny controlled air bubbles which creates little downward-facing peaks below the ground. There are eight of these pearl-like air bubbles.
I hope that my photographs do this lovely weight justice.
Dimensions: Diameter is 2 1/2 inches and the height is about 2 inches. Weight: 324 grams.
