This is another one of my fabulous limited edition weights by the glass maestro, Colin Terris.
This one comes from a small edition of only 50 weights and this one is number No. 18.
On issue - it was retailed at £275 (some 30 years ago); so my asking price for this special weight is indeed a rather fair one.
A much more unusual weight - entitled AMORE. The weight is spherical in shape. The front and top is covered all over with pentagon shaped facets. This must have taken great skill to achieve - and you can see why only 50 of them were ever made. There are no scratches or chips on any of these facets. When you turn the weight around there is a large and deeply engraved star shape. These are in good condition a couple of the raise ridges of the star shape has tiny tiny nibbles - you cannot see these so do not affect the display of the weight - but you can feel them it you slowly run the tip of your finger over them. This is reflected in my asking price for this hard to source weight.
The paperweight is made of tinted glass with shades of blue and lavender running through it. There is a scattering of little tiny air bubble of the base. In the centre is a very realistic orange rose - it fits on top of three pronged blue flumes or leaves.
As you can see from my photographs - it is such a stunning weight - dont make the issue with the tiniest issues on the star put you off it. If you are unhappy with it on inspection - it can always be returned to me.
This must have been a very technical weight to have produced.
This weight is 2 3/4 inches in height and the width is 3 inches. A nice heavy weight coming in at 850 grams.
