This is large size and beautiful Scottish paperweights designed by the glass maestro William Manson, Jr.
This lovely weight is is No. 1 from a very small edition of 10 weights. It is signed William Manson JR to the side at the base. 1/10 and the date 2014.
There is a little white WM signature cane below the lampwork flowers. It is a nice large spherical weight. The weight has no ground colour and is totally clear - and this makes it look like the flowers are floating in space. It looks good from the top - but I think that it looks best viewed from the side, The flowers almost seem to be floating in the air.
The two flowerheads are pink and cerise colour - with the darker shades to the centre of the blossoms and brighter pink to the tips. There are a total of eight lampwork green leaves - and two little tight rosebuds on each stem. It is, of course, beautifully made by Manson.
It is in excellent condition. It has no scratches on the base as there are three little applied raised plastic dots (easily removed it required) which keeps the weight from rubbing on your furniture. No dings or dents - just a lovely stylish weight by one of Scotland's leading paperweight artists. It was a little tricky to photograph - and any white marks on my images are not on the weight - but are just reflections on the surface of the glass.
My paperweight is a nice larger size: The diameter is 3 inches and the height is 2 1/4 inches.
