This is a another lovely vintage paperweight, made in Scotland, possibly by Vasart Glass in the 1950s or very early 1960s. The glass dome has a more grey tone to the glass. Rather then being crystal clear, this grey tone is often found in Vasart weights.
There is no maker's cane to be seen in this weight, and again this is consistent with what you might find in Vasart examples.
There is an attractive burnt orange ground, into which the millefiori canes are placed. This is a pontil mark on the base. There are some little signs of wear where the weight has been picked up and put back down over the years.
There is a central scarlet red cane surrounded by a Royal blue and white rosette. There are seven ribbon latticino canes with pink, pale blue and peppermint green millefiori canes in each section.
The diameter at the widest point is 3 inches and the height is just over 2 1/2 inches. Weight unpacked it 530 grams. So a large example. I have personally owned this and had it on display at home for many years so it is in very good condition.
No damages or scratches to the glass. Fair price for this fine vintage paperweight.
