This is a vintage powder compact for loose face powder.
It dates to the late 1950s. It does not appear to have a maker's mark. It is in a like-new condition - so no hygiene issues with it.
The main body is gold-tone - and the top of the lid is covered with small interlocked oblong sections of mother of pearl. There are no damages to the lid surface - with is nice and shiny with no scratches.
The base is a simple dull gold-tone metal. Inside is a mirror in the lid - and free from blemishes. The base would hold loose powder which has a metal cover that snaps and locks on top of the powder reservoir. It does not retain its original powder shifter.
It measures just 3 inches x 2 1/2 inches (7 x 6.2 cm). This is certainly a wee cutie - the perfect vanity accessory for popping in a little evening purse for a glamourous evening event.
I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
Good price for this more unusual vintage souvenir powder compact. UK postage will be with Royal Mail large letter size (the cheapest that I can find for you!) and applied at check-out. I have a number of vintage powder compacts in my online shop.
