This is a vintage powder compact for standard refill size of pressed cakes of face powders. It dates to the late 1960s.
It has been used, but is in good vintage condition. It still has its original rose coloured cake of pressed powder inside. I am leaving that in there - but it is easy for you to remove if you do not want to keep it.
The main body is gold-tone - and the top of the lid has a pretty petit point needlecraft design. The textile is covered with a clear plastic cover (original to the compact) to keep the material nice and clean underneath. The image is inspired by a Chinese landscape. We have a little building on the side of a riverbank and to the side of it is a cherry tree with pink blossom. More flowers are stitched to the foreground.
The base of the compact has an engine turned pattern - this is nice and shiny. There are no marks on it - but my image of it looks like it has a dent - this is not there; it is a reflection from the shiny metal.
The mirror inside the lid is clean and without marks or spots on the surface. The diameter is 7.5 cm (3 inches).
I have taken lots of images for your inspection. My asking price reflects its age and its fine condition.
