This is a lovely understated piece of 1950s Art Glass which was design by the Swedish glass maestro, Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta Glass - as stamped on the bottom.

Lindstrand (1904 - 1983) was one of the pioneers of Swedish glass. He began working at Orrefors in 1928 - and pioneered the Aerial glass technique. In the 1940s he moved to Uppsala Ekeby where he concentrated on designing ceramics.

He returned to glass design in the 1950s - but didn't return to Orrefors Glass - but to the other leading glass firm, Kosta, where he was appointed artistic director.

You find examples of Lindstrand's work in many international museums and collections.

This lovely Rare understated glass bowl has a square Kosta stamp on the base - and it is also signed: LH 1213.

This design with its internal black glass lines of glass radiating from the center, rather like how a child would draw a sun, dates to around 1955.

The shallow bowl is in excellent condition with no damages or chips.

It is more of a minimalistic form and design - but would look good in the stylish mid-century modern interior.

The bowl measures: 8 inches x 6 inches x 2 inches (20.5 x 15 x 5 cm)

Unpacked it is 900 grams.
