This is an attractive little globular glass vase by the Swedish glassmaker, Bertil Vallien (b. 1938). It comes from a series of designs that date to 1983. The Tornado series consisted of six differently shaped vases and two bowls.
These vintage pieces are always sought after - and my price for this fine piece is certainly a fair one.
It is fully signed on the base, as photographed.
The etched inscription on the base says that this vase comes from Boda's Artist Collection. Series No. 48279.
It is a Tornado vase and has a gold lustre finish - and it is decorated with lots of fine rainbow-coloured strands - and a single millefiori sliced cane,
It is in excellent condition with no damage.
It is 10 cm (4 inches in height). The diameter at the widest point is also 10 cm (4 inches).
