This is a lovely large stoneware coffee pot (or lidded jug), made by Buchan Pottery, who were based at Portobello, near Edinburgh (now closed).
It is certainly a most substantial piece of Scottish Pottery - standing at 9 inches in height.
It would hold about 2 1/2 pints of coffee or liquid ... so you will certainly hit that caffeine high with this pot!
This lovely pattern called Hebrides - this features a stylised abstract pattern of yellow and blue zigzag lines and stripes.
A traditionally popular pattern in the Buchan Stoneware range with a good mid-century modern feel to the design.
