These are two pretty hand-painted early 20th-century Bough jam pots.   Both are on offer here.

These attractive little pots are both beautifully decorated by Richard Amour / Christina Armour ( as initialed on the base).

The main body of the smaller jam pot has been painted with a bright yellow wash. The top of the pot has a pretty painted band of delicate berries and fruit. This pot has been painted by Christina Amour (signed C.C.A).This design has been picked up again on the lid and set off with a cute little flattened green knop. It measures 3 inches in height with a diameter of 2 1/2 inches.

It has a little restored discolouration to the inner rim where the lid sits- this looks nice and clean now - given the pot has a little condition issue - I am listing it at a much-reduced price of £25. It looks fabulous on display.

The larger pot is by Richard Amour. It has a purple wash to the bottom of the pot, and there are plums, apples, cherries and lemons around the rim. This pattern is picked up on the lid. The lid has a knop in the shape of a purple plum.

The height is (including lid knop) is 4 1/2 inches. The diameter at the widest is 3 1/2 inches.  Sadly, the pot has a tiny chip to the inside of the rim - this has now been restored and it is hardly noticeable - because this lovely pot is not in perfect condition - I have also reduced it to a bargain price of £30. As you can see in my photographs - they are both lovely on display together.

The jam pots are both clean inside - and apart from the issues mentioned - they are in great antique condition.

HISTORY: Bough Pottery was founded by Elizabeth Amour in the 1920s. They specialized in decorating blanks - which they bought in from pottery companies in England and Scotland (many from Maling Pottery, Newcastle).

Interest in Bough pottery has been of particular interest of late - and my asking price here reflects this renewed interest in the pottery.
