This is a harder to find piece of Scottish stoneware. It is squat elongated teapot. It is certainly a fabulous dynamic mid-century shape. It is decorated with the very attractive and rarer pattern called Sutherland.
It was made by Buchan Pottery, who were based at Portobello, near Edinburgh (now closed).
The teapot is 10 1/4 inches from the spout to handle. It is 6 inches in height and has a depth of 6 inches. It is 800 grams in weight.
My pretty teapot is excellent vintage condition with no chips or damages and nice and clean inside with no staining etc. As mentioned event plain elongated teapots are harder to find. This is all reflected in my asking price.
