This is a rarer stoneware plant pot which was made by Buchan Pottery, who were based at Portobello, near Edinburgh (now closed).
It dates on stylistic grounds to the late 1950s. It is a more unusual pattern and one that you do not see so often on Buchan pieces.
This rare pattern and shape is probably of interest to collectors of Buchan pieces and its rarity is reflected in my asking price for this wonderful tankard. It is in excellent condition with no damage.
The plant pot is very substantial and has a good bit of weight to it. Perfect for small indoor plants or a spiky Cacti! I have popped a little artificial plant inside it to show what it might look like with a plant of your choice. You don't find these plant pots that often and this is reflected in my plant pot.
The pattern has a bit of a Festival of Britain feel to it with vertical stripes in tangerine. There is a thin blue vertical line, and a pink wavy line with blue dots to each side. This design goes around the pot. There are ground oval daubs of pale green freely applied in between this pattern
Dimensions: The height of the pot is just under 4 1/2 inches. The diameter at the top is 4 3/4 inches and the base has a diameter of 3 1/2 inches.
It will be to send to you with Royal Mail Tracked delivery. This would be applied to your order at checkout.
