This is a fine old Art Deco 1930s glass plafonnier lampshade. It is called a goldfish bowl shade - and is also known by its cheeky nickname as a "flycatcher" shade.
It is an opaque white colour - which is speckled in the glass with tutti-frutti colours - mainly random spots of mainly lemon yellow, sugar pink and caramel brown. The main body colour is white mottled opaque glass. There are more coloured speckles around the outer edge and the base section is mainly mottled white.
The shade has little raised oblong shapes (with rounded corners) pressed out of the glass all around. The finish is a satin glass.
This one is in good vintage condition - and comes with its original metal hanging fittings - and long dark metal chains. Each hanging chain measuring about 37 inches (93 cm) in length - of course, could easily be shortened to the desired length.
The shade also has its original ceiling rose - which attaches to your own fitment on the ceiling and allows you to hang your shade chains from there.
The shade is in excellent condition with no chips, nibbles or cracks.
It is a nice smaller size - ideal for a hallway or bedroom.
It has a diameter of 11 3/4 inches (30 cm) and a height of just under 5 1/2 inches (14 cm).
I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
It will be sent to you in the UK using Parcelforce48 postage - which is a tracked service. This will cost £10 and will be applied to your order at the checkout stage.
