This is a cute little hand-painted piece of early 20th century Bough pottery.
It takes the form of a little pot or miniature shouldered vase.
The pot is fully marked to the base, as photographed. It was painted by Richard Amour for Bough.
This little vase is probably a little blank of this earthenware vase which was made by Maling and Sons, Newcastle-on-Tyne, and used by Bough Pottery.
The decoration features the attractive stylized flowers that you find on Bough pieces. There is a selection of flowers all around with large flower heads in peppermint, baby blue, and yellow shades- with three blocks of green colour in between. A very pretty little pot and a classic timeless design.
CONDITION: In good condition for a pot now 97 years old. It is nice and clean and displays well.
Dimensions: Height: 3 1/2 inches. The diameter at the widest point is 3 1/4 inches.
Bough Pottery was founded by Elizabeth and Richard Amour in the 1920s. They specialized in decorating blanks - which they bought in from pottery companies in England and Scotland (many from Maling Pottery, Newcastle).
