This is a simply stunning limited edition Caithness Glass paperweight.
It is full of the breath of spring with a bouquet of little narcissus daffodils floating about in the centre of the weight. It was a specially commissioned weight - for Peter Jones China in Wakefield (1994).
It was made to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Investiture of Prince Charles (now King Charles III). It is the prestige edition. The use of little daffodils would have been such an appropriate motif for a weight celebrating the Prince of Wales.
The weight is certainly a most superb one. It was designed by the glass maestro, Colin Terris and in a limited edition of only 100 weights. This one is edition numbered on the base (73 /100). It was a very complicated weight and had an high opening price of £200.
This one has the pretty daffodils in the centre. There is a slightly concave viewing facet on the top - and around the sides there are another eight smaller circular polished viewing facets. The base has deeply engraved facets (15 in total) forming a star shape, all as photographed. All this would have required great skill to create.
The weight is a larger one. It measures 3 inches in diameter and the height is 2 1/4 inches. It is a hefty 520 grams unpacked.
UK Postage will be with Royal Mail Special Next Day Delivery so that the weight is fully insured in transit. This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
