This is a large and eye-catching vintage / pre-loved Scottish Sterling Silver Brooch.
It takes the style of an earlier Scottish Celtic Revival Plaid Brooch.
It is large and dramatic - and has a diameter of 6.4 cm. I have taken a lot of photographs of it for your inspection.
It is in excellent vintage condition and comes with its original retail box - with the following printed on the interior lid: Celtic Art Ltd / Sterling Silver / Made in Scotland. It has its little retail leaflet inside the box - this says the brooch was made in Scotland at East Kilbride as photographed.
The company has been in existence for over 75 years of history and employs a team of skilled jewellery to handcraft beautiful traditional designs and unique designs in Scotland. Indeed, this brooch is still in production and retailed today (if not slightly smaller in size with a 5 cm diameter and with an online price of £180).
The brooch is obviously made of silver - but I have been unable to find an assay office hallmark. But don't think that this is an issue as the company prides itself in being s an assay-assured jewellery retailer.
My brooch has been pre-loved - but has hardly ever been worn. It comes pristine in its original retail presentation box. This is clean and without blemish.
