This is an attractive antique 19th century Staffordshire figurine, and it dates to around the 1880s.

The figurine consists of a Scottish couple (the gentleman wears a short kilt and has a sporran) who are in a vineyard. Each figure holds a cornucopia filled with bunches of grapes - and below are more fruiting vine and purple grapes.

The model would have sat on the middle of a mantlepiece in a rustic cottage - the centre of the model has a little circular disk - which represents a clock - the numbers on the clock here are sadly slightly rubbed - but still legible. The hands are painted on - to give the time. Of course - the time would read correctly twice a day... these models are commonly called a Poor Man's Clock.

This is a pretty example and is in good condition with no damages.

Dimensions: Height is 8 1/2 inches. Width is 5 inches and the Depth is 2 inches.

Unpacked the figurine weights in at: 625 grams.

Location: 22/02/2017
