This is a lovely genuine antique Staffordshire figurine dating to the end of the 19th century. It is a nice large size and looks great on display.
I also have another version in my store - which would form a pair with this one - and would make up a left and right grouping to sit on your mantlepiece.
It shows a man seated on a white horse. I think that he may be an ancient Highland huntsman - as he has a deer slung over the shoulder of his horse in front of him. He wears a tall feather bonnet and a kilt - which shows off his knobbly knees... lol!
The figurine is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
The paintwork to this piece is minimalistic - with just his little face and boots painted with colour.
There is a little craquelure to the glaze, but quite minor in nature, The horse's legs are intact with no damage.
A nice large piece is just over 14 inches in height. This is being sold as a guaranteed antique Staffordshire flatback figure - dating to around the 1860s. It is NOT a modern reproduction or copy.
Sadly the legs of the horse would make this piece too fragile to send outside of the UK. Postage for this will be with Parcelforce24 and will cost £10 - this will be applied to your order at the checkout.
