These are a fine pair of antique Victorian Staffordshire dogs - they take the form of a pair of seated chimney spaniels.
They are genuine Victorian examples, and definitely NOT reproductions.
They are nicely modelled examples with no chips or cracks - they have their original amber glass eyes. They are a matched pair, as created. They have a yellow band around their muzzles and a painted red line to represent their mouths.
Each dog has a little gold-coloured collar with a padlock on it - the padlock and chain on each dog have some rubbing and quite a lot of losses to the gilding - but this is common on these old Victorian examples.
They are fine display pieces - and will look fabulous on a mantlepiece or old-fashioned kitchen dresser. They are a smaller pair- and these are perfect for a today's interiors. The smaller ones are often harder to find.
Apart from losses to the old gold gilt - there are no damages, cracks or chips on my dogs. Height: 8 1/2 inches. Width: 8 inches.
They are nearly 2 kg in weight, unpacked. I will therefore have to send to you with Parcelforce24. This will cost just over £10 and applied to your order at the checkout.
