This is a nice set of six Edinburgh Crystal port wine glasses. Great to have a complete set of six. They are smaller glasses - and ideal size for a wee winter warming set of ruby port - or perhaps for a wee dram of Drambuie. They also look very pretty in a cocktail cabinet.
They are a matching set of six and are in perfect condition with no damage. Five have an older etched signature on the base of each glass. One has an Edinburgh Crystal etched mark. So generally dating to around the 1960s. I am listing these at a fair price of £10 each glass.
These glasses are all hand-crafted - there may be a little difference to the length of the points on the star on the base - as the engraving was often done by different engravers at the glassworks. I have taken lots of photographs for your inspection.
They measure as follows: 4 1/2 inches in height; the rim of the glass is 2 1/4 inches and the foot is 2 1/2 inches in diameter.
They will be sent to you with Royal Mail Tracked (Small Parcel). This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
HISTORY: The Edinburgh and Leith Flint Glassworks was established in the 1860s at Leith Walk Glassworks and later at Norton Park in Edinburgh.
In 1921 the glassworks became part of Webbs Crystal Glass Company.
In 1955, The Edinburgh and Leith Glassworks became Edinburgh Crystal, and the next decade saw further expansion and eventually the demolition of the old glassworks at Norton Park and new premises at Penicuik 10 miles south of Edinburgh.
Edinburgh Crystal went into administration in July 2006. Although the brand was taken over by the Waterford / Wedgwood Group the factory no longer exists and the brand is now discontinued.
