This is a nice set of four Edinburgh Crystal champagne flutes. Great to have four as good for the hosts and a pair for any guests. They are ideal for sipping bubbly winter wines or for festive toasts. Too good to hand out to the carol singers!
They are a matching set of four and are in perfect condition with no damage. They have the older etched signature on the base of each glass, as photographed. So dating to around the 1960s. I am listing these at a fair price of £35 each pair - so £70 grand total.
These glasses are all hand-crafted - there may be a little difference to the length of the points on the star on the base - as the engraving was often done by different engravers at the glassworks. I have taken lots of photographs for your inspection.
They measure as follows: 6 1/4 inches in height; the rim of the glass is 2 1/2 inches and the foot is 2 3/4 inches in diameter.
They will be sent to you with Royal Mail Tracked (Small Parcel). This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
HISTORY: The Edinburgh and Leith Flint Glassworks was established in the 1860s at Leith Walk Glassworks and later at Norton Park in Edinburgh.
In 1921 the glassworks became part of Webbs Crystal Glass Company.
In 1955, The Edinburgh and Leith Glassworks became Edinburgh Crystal, and the next decade saw further expansion and eventually the demolition of the old glassworks at Norton Park and new premises at Penicuik 10 miles south of Edinburgh.
Edinburgh Crystal went into administration in July 2006. Although the brand was taken over by the Waterford / Wedgwood Group the factory no longer exists and the brand is now discontinued.
