This is a PAIR vintage Edinburgh Crystal stemmed goblet-shaped HOCK WINE glasses, They would be ideal for cocktails, dessert wines, port or sherry. It probably would be too small for modern consumption of white or red wines.
The Star of Edinburgh pattern is a classic one that was first introduced by Edinburgh Crystal in 1948.
They are etched with the old Made in Scotland / Edinburgh mark - which was used from 1955. Tall and slender - they are just lovely!
They are in excellent vintage condition with no damage to them - indeed, they look just as if they have never been used. They have a lovely ring to them - lovely glasses!
They measure as follows: just over 6 1/4 inches (16.2 cm) in height. The rim has a diameter of just over 2 3/4 inches. The foot is just under 2 3/4 inches. When tapped they have a beautiful ring, which is a mark of quality. The pair weigh in at 520 grams.
