I love these little antique spill vases - and always try to find nice ones for my store.
This is an attractive antique later 19th-century Staffordshire model. It is not a flatback as such - as this has been modelled in the round and has delicate modelling and details. It is a rarer figurine to find and this is reflected in my asking price.
The figurine show a little boy. He is wearing a tunic - consisting of a blue top and striped pantaloons or skirted section. He has little knee high shorts and black shoes. He wears a large beret type onnet with a drooping green fluffy feather. He is playing with a little dog - the poodle clambers from the banking behind and onto his knee. I love the detail of the little poodle with his textured fur. The spill section is next to the boy's elbow.
It is in good antique condition with no damages. I cant believe that his little slim legs have survived all this time without being broken. He is a nice one of his type for sure!
Dimensions: The height from the base to the top of the cap is 6 inches. The width of the figurine is 4 inches and the depth is 2 3/4 inches.
