These are two rare little survivors.
They are sold as a matching pair of Victorian wall pockets.
They are made of black cloth and embellished with cream coloured pearls and beaded - and a fine lampwork beads fringing around the bottom of each pocket.
They are three dimensional in structure.
These measure 7 ½ inches in height including fringes. At the widest, each is about 4 inches
These would be had a little loop or ribbon at the top of each pocket on the back to allow you to hang these on your wall. The back is coloured with puce silk - sadly, the loop on each is now missing - and the top of the purple silk is in slightly shabby chic condition - but remains original to the item - please look at my photographs in close up. It would be very easy for you to add a little replacement ribbon to the back of each pocket.
These little pockets would have been decorative items and also little storage pouches for containing a wee selection of everyday objects you might need to find in a hurry - such as scissors, long tapers, needles, pencils etc.
Nice items - now quite hard to find and in relatively fine antique condition - considering that these are now about 140 years old.
VERY RARE to find a matching pair.
