This is a lovely Art Deco Picnic Flask - which you might pop in a picnic basket in a car - for warm drinks when driving or going out to more remote spaces on country drives.
The flask is an early one dating to around 1925.
It is inscribed on the base: Thermos (1925). Made in England, as photographed.
The flask inside is lined with shiny gold - in pristine condition with no marks etc - this is where you keep your drinks. The contents are held in place by a large cork bung - which has a plastic top and wee knop.
It keeps the contents water-tight and stops spillage.
The drinking cup section of the flask screws on and is held tightly in place.
The exterior is an early hard plastic / bakelite material - it is a baby blue colour that is mottled with white flashes to look like a marble effect.
The thermos is in good condition - lovely and clean and looks like it has never been used.
A great collectible piece of functional British Deco design.
Dimensions: 8 1/2 inches in height and with a diameter of 4 inches.
