This a fine set of six matching liqueur or sherry glasses, They are all very delicate in structure. They were designed by the Swedish glass maestro, Simon Gate around 1923. The design is called Astrid and it was made for Orrefors. Examples are in the collection of the V&A in London.
They are hand-blown and each has a polished pontil on the foot, as photographed.
They measure 5 1/2 inches in height. The diameter of the rim is 2 1/2 inches and the diameter of the foot is 2 3/8 inches. They are all in perfect condition with no damages.
The bowl is bell-shaped and tapers in towards the undulating stem. The stem has three knops that increase in size as they approach the base. The glasses are made from soda glass in the classic pale brown or smoke shade. They are unmarked.
The glasses are very delicate so sadly I would have to post only to the UK. I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
Postage will be capped at £5.50 and applied to your order at the checkout.
