This is another of my genuine 1930s Art Deco Wall Masks or Plaques. This one is also by G. Leonardi but it is not signed as such on the back - but it is firmly documented as being one of his creations.
Each creation was known as Leonardene Art Models exclusive figures. They were designed by British artists and made in London from British materials. Every piece was made and finished by hand. The company was the holder of Diplomas won in world competitions in the early 1930s in Brussels, Florence, London, Padora and Paris.‘
These masks are now hard to find as there is a certain fragility to them.
His one shows the exaggerated features of a glamourous 1930s lady. She is full of Hollywood style and she reminds me of Marlene Dietrich with he large expressive eyes and high cheekbones.
The wall mask is in good vintage condition. It has no chips or cracks - and only the most minor of scuffing to the surface which I have photographed all over for your inspection. She certainly looks very stunning on display.
