This a sweet little item - it is a honeypot is in the form of a square beehive. It has a yellow lid and green and yellow horizontal stripes around the sides.
The lid slopes on each side and is finished in the center with a little finial in the form of a little sculpted bee.
There are no maker's mark on the pot - but I think it is probably Continental in origin and dating to the 1950s.
It is certainly a rarer design and with the unusual stripes around the sides.
The honeypot is 5 1/4 inches on each side. It is about 4 1/4 inches high. It is in good condition with no chips or cracks. The interior is nice and clean - these pots often have quite a bit of staining inside (due to the contents) or pronounced crazing. There are no damages to the little bees.
There is some very light craquelure on sections of the side - I have taken photographs of this - it is only obvious on close up inspection and not when the honey box is on display. I have reduced the price to reflect this.
It looks great on display. I have a few other vintage honey pots listed on my side. Postal discounts would apply.
