This is a very pretty little Art Deco watercolour. It has been signed E. Douglas and dated 1933.
It is a very stylised design and would look good hanging beside woodblock prints by Hall Thorpe - which are similar in abstract shapes, colours and atmosphere.
This lovely little watercolour shows a Japanese lady with two little children huddled under the canopy of a large parasol. It is a highly attractive and detailed image, as you can see from my photographs.
