his is certainly a rare survivor - I haven't been able to find another complete one in this shape or with this stylist Deco pattern.
The set was made by Hancock's Ivory Ware - with a quirky palette mark on the bottom of the teapot - the other pieces are unmarked.
The main body colour is a mottled white and yellow. The colour differentiation in the shades is not as marked as suggested in my photographs. The inside of the cups and bowls is a glazed white colour. The exterior is a mottled pale yellow shade. All the dots are hand-painted - in orange, greens and dark blues, and there is an orange line around the rim of each piece.
This set is not a functional one - it is a miniature size - so perhaps a nursery piece - or designed as a cabinet set which you might put on display in a Deco China Cabinet.
They are generally in nice condition with no nasty chips or cracks. There is some very light crazing to the interior- not disfiguring. All the handles on the cup are intact and without issue. The teapot is in remarkable condition with no damage. There are some tiny losses of paint on a couple of dots - but this is just commensurate with age.
As your can see it is a stunning set - and would look good on display in a period Art Deco interior or display cabinet.
The set consists of the following: a/ the angular, geometric-shaped teapot:. This measures from the spout to the handle 5 1/2 inches. The height is 3 1/2 inches. The width of the base is 3 1/4 inches b/ six handled cups. These measure 2 1/2 inches in diameter and height is 1 3/4 inches. c/ six saucers that have a diameter of 4 3/4 inches d/ an open sugar bowl has a diameter at the rim of 1 3/4 inches and a height of 1 1/2 inches, and e/ a wee cream jug has a height of 1 3/4 inches.
Due to the fragility of the set - I would have to send them as a Royal Mail Medium Sized Parcel. This would cost £6.95 and would be applied to your order at the checkout.
