This is a very collectable early 1930s Shelley Pottery Baby's Plate.
I have four bone china plates listed which measure 6 inches. This one is slightly larger and has a diameter of 7 inches.
It is an piece of antique British ceramics. And it is in generally fine condition for a nursery item nearly 100 years old. I think that it dates to around 1935 and has the early Shelley pottery mark on the back. It has a few little scuffs on the decoration, please zoom in with close up view at my images.
The image on the center of the wee plate is by Mabel Lucie Attwell. The decoration shows a little girl out walking. She holds a green parasol above her head. She holds close to her a little floppy dolly and a puppy hides behind her legs. Two green Boo Boos walk in front together with a little Lady Mouse.
There is text in the top corner. This reads: Fairy Folk with Tiny Wings / Flying All Over My / Plates and Things
These early Shelly Nursery Plates are very collectable, and this one is in good condition. There are little fine cutlery marks on the decoration and I have reduced my price to reflect this. You cannot see these on display but only really when the plate is turned to a raking light.
