This is a very pretty vintage Italian porcelain figurine.
She is beautifully modelled but she does not have much in the way of markings to identify her. Except that she is made in Italy, as annotate on the base.
On stylistic grounds, she looks like similar figures made in the 1940s and 1950s at Capodimonte. She might be a San Marco figure or one modelled by Guido Cacciapuoti. She is certainly a very attractive and competent figurine.
She wears a peasant style dress with green bodice, pink skirt and yellow underskirt. All decorated with hand painted tiny flowers. She has been out in the garden and has been picking flowers which she has popped in a basket carried on her arm. She wears a finely woven straw hat. This is not made of ceramic, but is a real miniature straw one. This is original to the figure and a very rare survivor.
I love her face and her features remind me a little of the movie star, Marlene D ietrich. She has pronounced painted eyebrows, big eyelashes and a bright red rosebud mouth. She is a really attractive model and is in excellent condition with no losses or damages.
She is 9 inches in height and the width of her dress at the widest part is about 7 1/4 inches. Unpacked she is 860 grams in weight.
Due to the more fragile nature of the figurine we would have to carefully pack it - and I think that is might be best going as a Royal Mail Tracked (Medium Parcel) service. This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
