This is such a pretty little 1940s tea set / coffee set in the attractive period pink and grey colour scheme.
The set is in very good condition with no issues - and it is nearly 80 years old. It consists of one pot, an open sugar bowl, milk jug, four little cups and saucers, all as photographed.
It was designed by John Wadsworth (1879 - 1855) for Minton. The pattern is called Solano Ware - and this was the last production of Minton's earthenware works, which was closed in 1942. So my set pre-dates 1942.
Dimensions: Coffee Pot is 7 1/2 inches in height and 7 inches handle to spout. It is 4 inches at the widest point. The cups are 2 1/2 inches high by 2 3/4 inches in diameter. The saucers are 4 1/2 inches in diameter. The milk jug is 3 1/2 inches in height and from handle to spout is 4 3/4 inches. It is 3 inches in diameter. The sugar bowl is 2 1/4 inches in height by 3 3/4 inches in diameter.
This colour scheme with its rosy pink interior and period fern green shade is certainly now much harder to source - and this is reflected in my asking price which is a very fair one.
Interest in 1940s design is on the rise so these works by Wadworth are getting more and more sought after. The set breaks down as follows: The large pot is £35; the milk jug is £10; the sugar bowl is £10 and each coffee cup and saucer is £5. So a grand total of £75
This little set will cost £10 to post to you - all of course very carefully packed up - this will be with Parcelforce24. The postage will be applied to your order at the checkout.
