This is a stylish vintage 1950s Scandinavian ceramic bowl.
It is circular in shape and has a shallow rise - it is really more of a piece of modern art than a functional item (although you can use it) and would look great on a piece of mid-century Scandi modern furniture.
The main colour of the dish is a glossy black - into which the atomic, space-age design has been incised by hand to reveal white lines. It is certainly a fine piece of Finnish art pottery.
Please note the black glaze on the front is very shiny - so this is causing some white reflections on my photographs - these are not on the actual dish.
The bowl is a cafe creme colour on the base, and it has the old Arabia backstamp.
The bowl measures 9 1/2 inches in diameter and has a height of about 2 1/4 inches.
Unpacked my gorgeous bowl is 650 grams. A unique and very fine piece - this is reflected in my asking price.
