This is a very pretty little mid-century Danish jug.
It is signed to the base: Zeuthen. The company was founded in 1946 by Normann Zeuthen and from 1948 they began producing these fine art pottery ceramics.
The pottery used red clay and decorated their pots with shiny white glaze forming delicate patterns of dots, stars, or blossoms. Here we have lots of little white daisies all over the exterior.
This lovely piece was probably made by the potter Edith Nielsen, who would later establish her own studio and make wares which she signed simply "Edith".
It retains its original paper label on the base as photographed.
Please also see my little Zeuthen posy ring or stand in the same pattern - postage would be capped at £4.95 for both pieces.
The little decorative jug is in perfect condition with no damages.
These vintage pieces of Danish art pottery are highly collectable and this is reflected in my asking price.
Dimensions: Height is 4 3/4 inches. The diameter at the widest is about 5 inches and from spout to handle is 5 3/4 inches.
